The artisanal skills of Gentile, the traditional pasta

The philosophy of the Zampino family that owns the factory since 1948 is to give enough time to things that deserve time. This is common sense that doesn’t seem to be finding enough space in a marketplace that too often counts on quantity instead of quality.
Pasta Gentile means artisanal home made pasta. The artisan brings old knowledge, experience and passion.
Luckily there still exist realities like the Pastificio Gentile, one of the historical artisanal factories in Gragnano, the city of pasta.
The durum wheat selected by the Zampino family is an old variety from the beginning of 1900 that hasn’t undergone any genetic manipulation. It is 100% Italian wheat.
Witnessing a working day at the Pastificio Gentile is a unique experience: over 40 pasta formats are made in their little artisanal workshop. The factory works hard in order to fulfill the orders coming from pasta lovers.
Thanks to passion, special formats like the SpaghettOne are created. Spaghettone has a 2,7 mm diameter; the drying process lasts three days in order to preserve the fragrance and the semolina hardness.
The final product is pasta with a unique taste, rich in vitamins and mineral salts and highly digestible.
